Sintered Plastic Filter Disc Solution
Polyethylene/polypropylene (PE/PP) plastic powder sintering filter disc is a porous filter element formed by high-temperature sintering process, which has both efficient separation and chemical stability, and its core characteristics and applications are as follows:
🔬 1. Core structure and performance
Precision microporous filtration
Using ultra-high molecular weight plastic powder sintered at high temperature to form uniform and penetrating three-dimensional mesh micropores (pore size 0.2–100μm), it can efficiently intercept particle impurities, oil stains and microorganisms in liquids/gases, and the filtration accuracy is 0.45μm (liquid-solid) or 0.3μm (gas-solid)
Stable mechanical strength
The integrated sintered molding structure has strong compressive resistance, withstands 6bar working pressure difference (normal temperature working condition), and the pores do not deform under pressure fluctuations.
⚗️ 2. Corrosion resistance and safety
Broad-spectrum chemical resistance
Acid-alkali solutions with pH 2–12, organic solvents (such as alcohols, ketones) and corrosive media (electroplating solutions, emulsions, etc.) are better than metal filters.
Food and pharmaceutical grade safety
The material complies with GMP/FDA standards, no adhesive additives, and the copper ions released by PE material have natural antibacterial properties, which is suitable for sterile liquid and drinking water purification
♻️ 3. Convenient operation and economy
Efficient regeneration ability
It supports 0.5MPa gas-liquid backwash reflushing and reuse more than 50 times, and physical cleaning (pure water and compressed air) or chemical cleaning (alternating soaking of alkaline acid) can restore more than 90% of the permeability
Long life and low cost
The one-piece molding process reduces material loss, and the anti-clogging design reduces the frequency of replacements

Frequently Asked Questions
A sintered porous plastic filter disc is made from plastic powder. This powder, like polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), is heated below its melting point. Then, it is compressed using a sintering process to create a porous structure. This structure allows liquid or gas to pass through while filtering out impurities and particulate matter, and has high durability and chemical stability.
Sintered porous plastic filter discs are lower cost and lighter weight than metal filter discs (such as stainless steel or bronze). They are suitable for lightweight designs and have stronger chemical compatibility with acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. However, metal filter discs have a wider temperature resistance range (-200 to 800°C) and are suitable for extremely high temperatures or specific corrosive environments. Plastic filter discs are more commonly used in water treatment, pharmaceutical, and food industries, while metal filter discs are more common in oil and gas and high-temperature chemical processing. Both materials have their own targeted advantages.
Of course you can. Sintered porous plastic filter discs are highly customizable, with adjustable shapes (such as discs, tubes, plates or cones), pore sizes, filtration accuracy, connection methods (such as threads, flanges or plug-ins), and hydrophilic or hydrophobic properties. Customization requires detailed specifications, such as filter media, flow rate, working pressure and temperature, and we can provide precise solutions based on these requirements.
The factors to consider when choosing a sintered porous plastic filter disc are:
- Filter media (chemical properties of liquid or gas)
- Required pore size and filtration accuracy (based on particle size)
- Working environment (temperature, pressure and chemical compatibility)
- Flow rate and pressure drop requirements
- Required shape and connection method (such as threads or flanges)
Communicating specific application requirements with our technical team can ensure a customized and efficient filtration solution.
Some sintered porous plastic filter discs use FDA-approved materials (such as high-density polyethylene or polypropylene), meet food safety standards, and are suitable for the food and beverage industry (such as juice and beer purification). In the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, some products, such as BioVyon™, meet the sterile filtration requirements of EMA and FDA. Compliance is determined based on materials, manufacturing processes and certification requirements.
